The top Roman Social Class Pyramid describes Roman Society before the strike. This strike happened in 484 BC. During this strike the Plebeians refused to fight in the army and fled from Rome to make their own government. During the time that the Plebeians were gone the Patricians were very worried and confused on what to do around their community. They could no longer fend for themselves. The Plebeians did all their dirty work like making the clothes on their backs, cooking their food, working as local shop owners, cleaning the roads, etc. After the strike was over the Patricians decided to make an agreement with the Plebeians to allow them more rights in their society if they came back. Some of the new rights created were being able to hold government office(Council of the Plebs and Tribunes), being able to marry Patricians, they were allowed veto power, they could vote, and they could even lead in religious ceremonies.
